What Is Hospice Care?

Hospice care is a type of health care that focuses on caring for and providing comfort and proper care for patients in their latter part of life.

The purpose of hospice care is to allow patients to live the remainder of their lives in comfort and focus on easing the impacts of the symptoms of their condition.

Who pays for Hospice?

Government Programs. This life-changing process shouldn’t become a hindrance to you or your financial status. For this reason, we accept most insurance plans including Medicare and Medi-cal.

Where is Hospice care provided?

Hospice care is provided wherever the patient resides. This could be at their own home, a relative’s home, assisted living communities, senior facility, nursing homes, and other long-term care facilities including hospitals.

 
 

Who can receive Hospice Care?

Hospice care is offered to those who are diagnosed with a terminal illness and wish to seek out comfort care rather than treatment for their condition. This is also known as palliative care. Some of the most common illnesses that instantly present qualification are:

  • Cancer

  • Alzheimer’s and dementia

  • Heart disease

  • Kidney disease

  • Lung disease

  • Degenerative neurological disorders

Does Hospice care mean a patient has a short life expectancy?

We are here to celebrate life together with
those who need additional care & attention
in their ladder part of life. Hospice care does not mean that individuals or families should give up. Accessing hospice care offers a higher chance of stabilizing a patient’s condition and addressing his or her other needs. There have been cases wherein patients are discharged because of an improvement to their health due to the level of comfort& attention that was provided.

Does Hospice care focus on the patient only?

No. Hospice care provides comfort and emotional support to patients and their family members. We are able to provide support to families through Social Work services, spiritual counseling, grief management, and so much more. We are experts in what we do but nw’re also human beings with loved ones of our own — and we’re at your side when you need us the most.


 

What Kinds Of Hospice Medical Equipment & Supplies Do You Provide?

Hospice medical equipment & supplies may include (but is not limited to): 

  • Personal care & hygiene products including soap, shampoo, body lotion, barrier creams.

  • Bandages and other wound care supplies
